The focus of this conference was \u201cDegrees of Influence: The Forces Shaping the Future of Higher Education.\u201d The Agenda for this conference can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suny.edu\/sunycon\/2016\/agenda\/\">https:\/\/www.suny.edu\/sunycon\/2016\/agenda\/<\/a> and features many of the topics we are discussing in this blog and in the work being done by PC\u2019s Future of Higher Education Research Team.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions were all based on\u00a0recent articles on higher education\u00a0including the dialogue around debt in higher ed (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/get-there\/the-debt-dialogue-must-be-turned-on-its-head\/2015\/08\/07\/611f8c56-3a2b-11e5-8e98-115a3cf7d7ae_story.html?utm_term=.475acfda3129\">&#8220;The Debt Dialogue Must be Turned on its Head&#8221;<\/a> &#8211; Washington Post), issues of campus sexual assault (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/entry\/college-sexual-assault-study_us_569e928be4b0cd99679b9ada\">&#8220;There&#8217;s No More Denying Campus Rape Is a Problem&#8221;<\/a> &#8211; Huffington Post) and college readiness (&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/remedial-courses-in-college-stir-questions-over-cost-effectiveness-1416243572\">Remedial Courses in College Stir Questions Over Cost, Effectiveness<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; The Wall Street Journal).
