There is a body of research that shows many students come out of high school not college ready to succeed or complete a college degree. Most of the research speaks to what high schools can do to prepare and there is little about what services higher education can provide such as pre-college counseling in high school. Data and studies provide argument for the elimination of the traditional remediation programs and to replace with integrated learning or co-requisite tutoring with all \u2018traditional classes\u2019. Many argue that there is a need to define program of study early for those students identified as requiring some \u2018remediation\u2019 or assistance to better succeed in and complete college in a timely fashion.<\/p>\n
