¶ 2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 1. If Providence College were to be best known for one thing only within the next 10-20 years, what should it be?

- Nationally recognized leading Catholic liberal arts college (big emphasis from some groups on Catholic identity)
- More recruitment in the West – national recruitment
- Cleaning up off-campus life, perhaps moving off-campus students on campus?

- Commit to DWC with full weight, more full-time faculty
- Release time for colloquium teaching
- More connections between DWC and business majors
- More robust writing center and academic support services
- Go local – tie into the community in ways that we haven’t before (charity begins at home)

- connect with first generation students, going back to our roots
- Supporting faculty for scholarship and research

- teaching in DWC is a handicap in that regard, not a plus

- More full-time faculty and resources, less adjuncts
- Spring Break trips for DWC like LAH does
- Better financial aid for students
- Scholarship students who WANT to be here, not just for the money
- Endowed chairs supporting research and contributes to the intellectual life of the college

- but there was some concern about that…would they really contribute to us (Randall chair, some noted doesn’t do all that much)
- We should support DWC faculty teaching in the program

- National applications
- Sense of how many apply because it is Catholic
- How many low-income students are we educating?
- Creating communities among faculty and students, using creative spaces to do so.
